Description : In order to meet the rising energy demand, it is crucial to enhance the share of clean energy resources to ensure sustainable economic growth. There is a critical requirement to facilitate the development of CGD infrastructure considering the need for development of natural gas value chain and preserving ecological balance. In this regard, a policy framework on the necessary support mechanism for CGD entities and uniform standards and regulations for their functioning is imperative. Accordingly, the Tamil Nadu City Gas Distribution Policy 2023 has been formulated after consultation with the related departments/ agencies and stakeholders.
